Veritable Vegetable is the nation’s oldest distributor of certified organic produce. Through the creativity and hard work of many women and men who have worked here since 1974, we’re proud to have earned a reputation for quality, integrity, and leadership.

Our business model is based on principles of diversity, advocacy, integrity, and a rigorous work ethic. We see our work as an opportunity to be both individually creative and cooperative, and we see ourselves as both a business and an instrument for social, economic, and environmental change.

Our warehouse and offices are located at 1100 Cesar Chavez Street, San Francisco, California. Our warehouse facility measures 25,000 square feet and our inventory contains over 9700 items, of which 97% is Certified Organic. We employ over 80 full-time staff.

California and beyond

We have approximately 300 active customers, and we buy from 340 produce vendors. 75% of our business is generated from customers located in California. Our distribution area includes California, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado.

Veritable’s fleet of trucks includes 5 bobtails and 9 semi-tractor trailers. We employ over 20 full-time drivers and our trucks are on the road 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
