Assistant Warehouse Manager

Veritable Vegetable is a woman-owned, socially responsible, organic produce distribution company in San Francisco.  We have immediate fulltime openings for creative, energetic people with expertise in organic produce handling and distribution. 

Summary of Position Purpose:  To assist in the daily supervision of Warehouse personnel. To ensure safe, clean and efficient operations of the Warehouse.

Duties

1.      Directly supervise shifts in the absence of the Warehouse Manager

2.      Assist manager to ensure that staff operate safely, efficiently and effectively

3.      Participate in other tasks and projects as directed by Operations Manager or Warehouse Manager

The ideal candidate will

  • Have at least one year’s experience in an organic produce distribution warehouse, demonstrating a high level of competence in all aspects of WH function
  • Be highly organized and willing to take on responsibilities for her/his shift
  • Be able to work closely with staff members in other departments
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, even within a multi-tasking environment
  • Have the capacity and desire for engagement in the physical work of Warehouse operations
  • Have an excellent record of timeliness and attendance

Compensation            $18 – 26 per hour with excellent benefits

Inventory Control Assistant

Veritable Vegetable is a woman-owned, socially responsible, organic produce distribution company in San Francisco.  We have immediate fulltime openings for creative, energetic people with expertise in organic produce handling and distribution. 

Summary of Position Purpose:  As a member of the Inventory Control Team, support the accurate and efficient handling and shipping of VV inventory. Help to assure quality of product, maintain correct and timely inventory records, and direct IC functions when IC Manager is not present.

Duties

  1. Perform all aspects of Warehouse work at a high level of competence.
  2. Ensure high quality standards are maintained with minimal product loss.
  3. Assist in the development of inventory control systems.
  4. Carry out activities that facilitate efficient receipt and handling of inventory.
  5. Support sales and shipping functions.
  6. Provide accurate and timely records of all incoming, on hand and outgoing inventory.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Minimum of six months’ experience with fresh produce Warehouse functions
  • Demonstrated accuracy in previous work applications
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Capacity and desire for engagement in the physical work of Warehouse operations

Compensation            $18 – 26 per hour with excellent benefits

Inventory Control Manager

Positions Summary: As a member of the Inventory Control Team, facilitate accurate and efficient handling and shipping of VV inventory. Assure quality of product, maintain correct and timely inventory records, and manage support staff.

Duties

1.      Ensure high quality standards are maintained with minimal product loss.

2.      Develop, establish and maintain systems that facilitate efficient receipt and handling of inventory.

3.      Support sales and shipping functions.

4.      Provide accurate and timely records of all incoming, on hand and outgoing inventory.

5.      Effectively handle the Q.C./ I.C. Team responsibilities during own shift and in conjunction with I.C. Managers of other shifts.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Minimum of one year’s experience with fresh organic produce Warehouse functions
  • Knowledge of the characteristics of fresh fruits and vegetables throughout all seasons
  • Minimum of one year’s experience with inventory control
  • Demonstrated accuracy in previous work applications
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Capacity and desire for engagement in the physical work of Warehouse operations

Compensation            $52,000 – 72,000 per year with excellent benefits

Night Warehouse Position

Veritable Vegetable is a woman-owned, socially responsible, organic produce distribution company in San Francisco.  We have immediate fulltime openings for creative, energetic people with expertise in organic produce handling and distribution. 

Position Summary:  To carry out night warehouse operations with a high level of competency and independence, with emphasis on receiving, shipping, and maintaining quality of fresh produce. To participate in the ongoing development and implementation of efficient and effective Warehouse systems.

Duties

1.      Accurate receiving of product and freight

2.      Accurate and timely shipment of product and freight

3.      Inventory maintenance to ensure accuracy and quality.

4.      Development and support of efficient Warehouse systems

5.      Facility maintenance and safety

The ideal candidate will

·        have at least one year’s experience working the night shift in an organic produce distribution company

·        work both independently and as a member of a team, with a high level of personal accountability

·        desire to contribute to the development of product handling and inventory systems

·        enjoy hands-on physical labor while exploring creative ways to bring ultimate efficiency and safety to that labor

·        demonstrate excellent timeliness and attendance at work

Compensation            $20-28 per hour with excellent benefits

Transportation

Class A and B Truck Drivers

We are seeking Class A and B local route drivers to both deliver organic produce to stores and restaurants, and pick-up from organic farms and distributors. Local routes extend as far south as Salinas, east to Lake Tahoe, and north to Chico and Ft. Bragg.

We are looking for people who are:

·         Reliable, cooperative, diligent, and efficient, with good customer service skills

·         Able to work both independently and as team members

·         Able to work early morning hours (start times vary, 2:30 – 4am)

·         Proficient in basic math and have good communication skills 

·         Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

·         Experience with produce preferred

·         Pallet jack and forklift experience a plus

Clean DMV required. Pre-employment drug screen is required by federal law for all commercial drivers.
