We Will Train You
We are seeking Class B and C local route drivers to deliver organic produce to stores and restaurants, and pick-up from organic farms and distributors.
We are looking for people who:
Consistently report to work on time with a minimum of absences
Are reliable, cooperative and efficient
Possess willingness and initiative
Are cooperative and helpful to others
Have good communication skills
Are emotionally stable and have an even temperament
Are proficient in basic math and have good communication skills
Are able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work early morning hours, nights, weekends and holidays is required.
Experience with produce preferred.
A current DMV printout is required with your application. Pre-employment drug screen is required by federal law for all commercial drivers.

Purchaser Position
Veritable Vegetable is offering a Purchasing position with the oldest organic produce distributor in the U.S. We provide full service distribution of organic fresh fruits and vegetables to retailers, restaurants, and wholesalers. Veritable Vegetable is a women owned business, founded on principles of cooperation, participatory management, and ethical business practices. Located in San Francisco, California, we have been creating community alliances and promoting sustainable agriculture since 1974.
Primary Responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate, qualify and develop vendor relationships
Maintain, grow and strengthen relationships with organic farmers
Represent our company as the vendor of choice
Ability to communicate company values to vendors and staff.
Requirements:
3 + years retail, sourcing or purchasing experience with proven success building and managing
new vendors.
Ability to understand the logistics of transportation department
Knowledge of Organic Produce industry regulations and publications
Outstanding relationship building skills with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity
Possess strong communication and presentation skills
Self motivated, highly organized team player
Personal integrity and an entrepreneurial spirit
This is a full time exempt position.
