Our Warehousers schedule their work in three shifts that cover the 24-hour
period of a day, every day, seven days a week. The workload is broken into four
distinct, overlapping applications: receiving, warehousing, inventory control
and order pulling/shipping. The VV staff works at a constant pace to move the
food that comes in starting in the late afternoon and through the night. We
receive, on average, 70 pallets of fresh fruits and vegetables every night of
the week; this translates into 20,000 packages a week. The majority of this
product spends only 8 to 10 hours in our warehouse before it is shipped on to
our customers.
