Our company's seven departments keep the company operating seven days per week, 365 days per year. Our departments include: Administration, Inventory Control, Purchasing, Sales, Training & Education, Transportation, Warehouse.
Administration
Our Administration Department includes Facilities, Finance, Information Technology (IT), Marketing Communications and Human Resources (HR) Departments.
- Our Finance Department manages customer and vendor accounts, payroll administration, and our 401(K) plan.
- Our IT Department keeps our networks and computers up and running.
- Our Marketing Communications team focuses on keeping our internal communications systems smooth and making sure our extended community understands who we are and what we do.
- Our Human Resources Department recruits and retains good employees, administers company-wide benefits, provides for employee relations, implements safety programs, and makes sure VV remains in compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
- Our Facilities Department keeps our warehouses and machinery running smoothly to ensure uninterrupted service.
Inventory Control
VV strives to carry the highest quality fruits and vegetables and to keep them fresh from the farm to the retailer. Though everyone at VV is trained to notice any quality issues we may have, VV’s Inventory Control Department focuses on this every day. They also ensure we store and ship the accurate number of products making us more reliable for our customers.
Purchasing
Our Purchasing Department ensures we procure the freshest organic produce available. By having each buyer focus on a group of products, our buyers become experts in their area of specialty, allowing them to provide current market information to our growers. Our buyers collaborate with our Transportation Department to ensure our growers’ products arrive fresh to our warehouse.
Sales
Our Sales Department works closely to consistently provide high quality produce at a fair price. Every member of the Sales Team understands that supplying fresh, tasty, and fairly priced produce to our customers is paramount to our customers’ success. Our sales department relies on close relationships with their accounts in order to provide personal customer service.
Training & Education
Everyone who works at VV takes part in a comprehensive training on the foundations of the company because we consider staff development a priority. Our Training and Education Department ensures all VV employees understand the issues we care about, our values, and the overall operations of VV.
Transportation
Our in-house Transportation Department provides us with the flexibility and efficiency we need to move our products successfully. Our drivers are the face of the company, and interact daily with our farmers and customers. They control punctual pick up and delivery, ensure complete customer orders, and help us provide the freshest products possible to our customers. Our Transportation Department is committed to developing a green fleet by utilizing environmentally-friendly technologies.
Warehouse
Our Warehouse Department ensures our produce is handled correctly as it comes in from farms and packed for delivery to our customers. Our Warehouse Department keeps our extensive product organized in different coolers, pulls orders, re-packs boxes as necessary, and ultimately builds pallets which preserve the quality of the product while traveling to our customers.
