Although not yet hitting their supply stride, we now have blood oranges available. Normally, the first picks of the season aren’t entirely captivating with regard to color and flavor, but we’ve sampled some particularly delicious fruits from Reedley in the Central Valley and the Temecula area in Southern California. Early in the season there is often no exterior blush that distinguishes the blood oranges from other orange varieties, so we recommend our retail customers cut some fruit open to reveal the raspberry colored flesh and create some visual contrast in citrus displays for their customers. Ask your salesperson to put them on your order.
